Gospel of Luke 23:39-43
Autumn is the season of facing the
unknown
Looking toward the winter brings
fears of how the wind will blow
The ground is hard and the trees
look dead
And your breath looks like a spirit
as it leaves your head
If we can make it through the
winter, make it through the cold
Spring will come in time, and
will loosen winter's hold
If we remember what it feels
like to feel the heat of the sun
If we can brave the long dark
tunnel, at the end the light will come
Spring is the season of resurrected
life
The reward for surviving the cut
of winter's knife
Looking back on the season with
a sigh of tired relief
Feeling like we've stolen heaven,
like the crucified thief
Year by year, the seasons return,
day by day, we push away the snow
For it's from the repetition we
learn, and we don't give up because we know...
