Inspired by:
II Timothy 3:16-17
I've got a book at home that
I keep on the shelf
The book is all my own, I keep
it to myself
I got it from a man who said
it changed his life
I don't read it, though, 'cause
I don't want to change mine
I never take my book down off the
shelf
'Cause I don't need it
But it's nice to know it's there
In case I ever want to read it
I pretend the truth cannot be known,
So I don't have to seek it
'Cause it's easier to be ignorant,
And fearfully critique it
Once when I hit bottom,
I almost blew the dust
Off the book up on my shelf,
And off my sense of trust
But as my hand reached out, I stopped
A voice said, "Don't you know...
That a real man doesn't need that
book,
And if you read it you might have
to grow!"
