Terra Firma

Inspired by:
Gospel of Matthew 7:24-27
... and a little Monty Python

There was a time, there was a man
Built his house upon the sand
He wanted a view of the sun on the bay
But the tide came in and washed it away

And he's looking for a new foundation
He claims it's a form of liberation
That's what he'll say
But he's running away... from terra firma

There was a girl, her life was harsh
She built her castle in the marsh
She said she wanted a softer place
But the castle fell and left mud on her face

And she's looking for a new foundation
She claims it's a form of liberation
That's what she'll say
But she's running away... from terra firma

How can you stand on the shifting sand?
How can you walk away from solid land?

And they're looking for a new foundation
They claim it's a form of liberation
That's what they say
But they're running away... from terra firma
