Gospel of Luke 10:29-37
In an unnoticed house that everyone
passes by
There's a girl no one knows who
is trying not to cry
For she's caught in a cycle of
going through motions
Forced to leave her true devotion
lie... and we just pass by
So she's praying for a sign,
and she's listening for an answer
But she can't help the feeling
she's falling behind
While the panic wells up in
her eyes... and we just pass by
In an unnoticed corner where there's
never the time
The paint on the palette cracked
like desert sand where it dried
There's an unfinished canvas that
calls to the brushes
It's been a long time since they
could reply... and she passes by
In an unnoticed field that no one
passes by
There's a girl that everyone knows
And the well polished marble that
marks where she lies
Says she had a melancholy soul
And now, her self portrait hangs
on a gallery wall
Where her new-found admirers come,
and she stares at them all
And she looks at them right in
the eye
She looks at them as if to ask
why... did you just pass by?
And she prayed for a sign...
